Mount Bromo


Mount Bromo is one of the volcanoes are still active, which is in Java, the Mountain with the altitude 2392 m above sea level, located between County Probolinggo, Pasuruan, Lumajang, and the District of Malang, East Java. However, administratively Bromo area is part of Probolinggo regency, East Java.

Bromo name comes from Sanskrit, Brahma, which is one god in Hindu religion. For the communities, namely Tenggerese, Mount Bromo is a holy mountain, so every once a year ritual ceremonies are always held "Yadnya Kasada / Kaosodo", which is a kind of ritual of throwing the earth into the crater of Mount Bromo as offerings. The ritual ceremony is held at midnight until the early hours each month Kasodo (Tenth) according to the Javanese calendar. Through this ceremony the public ritual begging perch abundant harvest or ask for "starting backup" and the healing of various diseases.



Mount Bromo is part of the National Park area of Bromo Tengger Semeru (TN-BTS). This national park has a sea of sand to reach 5250 ha and an altitude of about 2.100m above sea level. Sea of sand is part of the ecological history of the formation of the Tengger caldera area.

At the foot of Mount Bromo is a temple used for ceremonial and religious. Tourists can enjoy the sun also rises (sunrise), a walk by riding horses, and enjoy the warmth of the drink and fight fires for the cold. In addition to natural attractions, tourists can also enjoy a cultural tour by following the ceremony "Yadnya Kasada"




To achieve Bromo, tourists can take two routes. First, "the western door" of the pasuruan. Travel melaluli "western door" is somewhat difficult because it can not pass regular 4-wheeled vehicles, except by hiring jeeps. Distance via this route from Wonokitri village about 13 km to reach Bromo. Second, through the "eastern door" of the direction of Probolinggo. through the "eastern door" of this, tourists can use any vehicle, because the road is not too steep. If tourists want to see the expanse of ocean sand, it is advisable to go through "the door of the north", but if tourists want to see the sunrise, it is more practical through the "door of the west". The nearest village to reach Bromo is about 45 km from Probolinggo, namely Cemorolawang Village.

During the 20th century, known as the mountain resort that has erupted three times, with regular intervals, namely 30 years. Largest eruption occurred in 1974, while the last eruption occurred in 2004.







From the top of the mountain Bromo, we also can enjoy the ocean of sand and a vast expanse of grass and watching the grandeur of Mount Semeru rose through the clouds and the other mountains surrounding it. One way to enjoy the beauty at the top of Bromo is to hire a horse or a jeep that had been prepared the managers of tourist attractions to take us around the desert.

Komodo National Park " Komodo Island"


Komodo National Park is located in the Nusa Tenggara archipelago, between the two islands of Sumbawa and Flores island between the border of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Here there are three main islands or a few large islands namely Komodo Island, Rinca island and Padar island and the rest are small islands with a land area of 603 km2. The total area of Komodo National Park is 1917 km2 now. Komodo Island to the west of Sumbawa Island, separated by Sape Strait.

Komodo National Park to reach the extent of 173,300 ha, Covering an area of 40,728 ha of land and waters cover 32,572 ha. Three large islands dominate the mainland is the island of Komodo (33,937 ha.), Rinca Island (19,625 ha.) And the island of Padar (2017 ha). Terrain undulating peaks at an altitude of 735 m, on Mount Satalibo.









Komodo National Park is found around the year 1911 and has been declared one of the world that needs to be protected and biosphere reserve by the UNESCO in 1986. National Park was originally in the form in order to preserve the unique species of dragon and rare (Komodo), which in familiar with the scientific language of the Varanus komodoensis was first discovered by JKH Van Steyn about the year 1911. After that not only the Komodo dragon is protected but all good marine biodiversity and land conservation in the area of Komodo National Park.

The majority of the people who live in and around Komodo Island is the fisherman who came from Bima (Sumbawa), Manggara, South Flores, South Sulawesi from Bugis Bajau tribe.

While people the original community in Komodo Island is Ata modo tribe is still on the island of Komodo, but along with migrants from other regions so the blood, indigenous cultures and languages have mingled with newcomers.



Komodo is the largest land reptiles in the world. These animals, including endangered animals because these animals are endemic animals. Endemic means, these animals only live in certain areas. Komodo dragons live only on an island called Komodo Island, Indonesia.

Komodo is a very unique animal because he has two ways to reproduce. First, by way of fertilization (conception) between males komodo and females komodo. This is the way of sexual reproduction. The second way is through "parthenogenesis". This allows a female komodo become pregnant without going through the process of fertilization. However, "parthenogenesis" cause all the eggs that were born through "parthenogenesis" will be a Komodo dragon that is always the male gender. "Parthenogenesis" is expected to function to prevent the extinction of komodo.
