Senggigi Beach

Senggigi Beach, located on the north ward, is the most popular beaches and is famous for its beauty. The beach is located 12 miles northwest of Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Lombok is, stretching nearly 10 km long with white sand.

Apart from Senggigi beach which is well known to foreign countries. Here also there Batu Bolong, Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air.



About a half hour on foot, the tourists can encounter Batu Bolong in this beach. This is a temple built on the rock which lies on the beach. According to local legend held ancients often sacrifice a virgin to the sharks are fed back to this place. Another legend says the first lot of women who threw themselves from this place into the sea because of a broken heart. From this place also seen Mount Agung in Bali.

Not far from Batu Bolong is the tomb of a scholar. This is a place sacred to the adherents of Wetu Telu. Batu Layar visit crowded at the time "Lebaran Ketupat" which is Lebaran for people who fasted 1 week after Lebaran Idul Fitri.
There are several alternatives to achieve Senggigi Beach, namely:
